Posting to Fan Pages from you Iphone

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Good morning. I know that this is not a photo related post, but sharing photos that you have taken is an awesome ability. Photography is elevated when you can share it with others and get their perspectives and comments. That is why I love my iPhone so much. I always have it with me and it is not big and bulky. The downside is the quality. Don’t get me wrong, it is adequate for a 3 megapixel camera, but I just wish I had a little more to work with and a little more control.

At any rate, I found this post this morning on how to post directly to fan pages on Facebook from your iPhone. I have been doing this for sometime with my personal profile, but hadn’t figured out how to achieve this for my fan pages. This may be old news to some, but I have been looking for this for some time. I administer a couple of fan pages in addition to my own personal profile and I know this will definately open up opportunities for increased sharing.

Let me know if this helps or if you have any additional comments or info.

Geotagging in Tweetdeck

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Tweetdeck is another program that I have been using for my twitter needs. I have been using both Tweetdeck and Hootsuite for my twitter needs and I am torn about which one I like best. Today I found this Mashable post about the new features in Tweetdeck. See what you think and let me know what you use to access and keep up with twitter.

Mashable’s iPhone Apps List 2010

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Since I am newer to the iPhone, I bought mine this last july, I always want to pass along any new or cool apps that I find. Mashable’s iPhone Apps List for 2010 has a ton of apps for just about anything.

If you can’t find something useful here, then there is no hope. This is a pretty exhaustive list.

PANO – Panoramic Photo Stitching iPhone App

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I really enjoy taking pictures. I own a Canon Rebel XTi and I shoot a lot of photos. The only problem is that I don’t always have my camera rig with me everywhere I go. I see great photo opportunities everywhere I go, on my way to work, paying my cable bill and at the grocery store.

Then I found a little iPhone App called PANO. It allows you to take panoramic pictures and stitch them together on the fly. It works great and is so simple and easy to use. The great thing is that I have my iPhone with me all the time, so I don’t miss those great photo opportunities. Here is my very first Pano shot:

This was taken, in my backyard, about a minute or two after I had downloaded and installed the App. This shot was done horizontally, but you can shoot vertically as well. It doesn’t take long to really get the hang of using this app. Here is another shot that I took just a few weeks later:

Checkout examples of PANO on flickr to see what others have done with this App.

As you can see, it does great and you always have it with you where ever you go. The greatest part is that you shoot the picture, when you are done, tell Pano to stitch your panorama, and within 30 seconds your photo is ready to upload. Simple, easy, quick, and goes everywhere you are. It is one of my favorite apps. Try PANO for yourself!
