VTubeTools.com is a great little utility that allows you to create a custom YouTube player and background. I recently did a web page that needed a small YouTube video embedded onto it. The page had a dark green background and the player background was white. Not very nice looking. By using VTubeTools.com I was able to customize the player so that it looked like an actual part of my site.

Bringing your family history alive!
Monday, October 4th, 2010Just a short post to share an interesting site that I just found on Twitter. Family Line Studios produces the following:
At Family Line Studios we weave an in-depth and sensitively filmed interview together with family photographs, relevant documents and titles, to create a touching and revealing portrait, providing your family with an enduring gift that will be treasured down through the years.
Check out their site and see what they have to offer. I have done many recordings with my family members, but this is done very nicely.
Xshot – Get in the Picture!
Sunday, September 19th, 2010This week I am sharing something that my friend Bill Crosby found called Xshot. I have actually done something similar with my monopod, but this makes the whole process much easier. I am not a paid sponsor for Xshots and they haven’t given me anything to compensate me for this post. I just enjoy passing along great, innovative ways to make filming easy. Checkout what some people have to say about this product below.
Steadycam Test Footage
Monday, September 6th, 2010Here is a video that I put together showing how I put together the steadycam that joshdoube did a video on recently. I ran into a few catches, but overall it went really well. I have included some test footage at the end of the video. Please be kind as this is the first time I have used this setup. It will get better with practice. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Make sure to retweet or share this with friends if you found this useful or interesting. Thanks.

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010Today my obsession turned to trying to really lock down what I want to do with regard to getting a steady cam for my Zi8 and/or my iPhone 3Gs. So here are some of the videos that I found. Let me know if you know of a better way to get this done. After Watching these I may actually try to build my own. (Be sure to check out the post for more videos)

Live video with multiple Talking Heads
Sunday, July 18th, 2010I ran across this post from SocialMediaExaminer and thought it was well worth sharing. It gives some great resources for live video with multiple talking heads. As a mac user I have had this ability for sometime using iChat. The only problem was that not everyone had a mac. This levels the playing field and gets the job done.
Here is an additional post that goes into further depth concerning this topic.
I also found a great tutorial video from MonkeySee.com concerning basic video tips and tricks. I was especially interested in the basic lighting video. Lighting always seems to be a problem, this helps to get people started in the right direction. It is basic, but useful.
Star Trek OS – Full episodes
Thursday, July 8th, 2010I just found this via Facebook and thought that maybe someone else out there may enjoy this as well. It claims to stream full episodes of Star Trek OS at Watch Star Trek Online. Let me know what you think?
